BRISTOL, Va. —
Bland County senior runner Josh Goodman finished in second place at the Region C cross country meet held late last week at Sugar Hollow Park.
Goodman finished in a time of 16:08, trailing only Walker Mogan of Radford, who was clocked at 15:50.
Radford won the team title, while Bland County was ninth and Graham was 13th.
Graham runners included Brandon Carroll (51st place, 19:14), John Dudeck (68th, 20:10), Tanner Winesett (76th, 20:33), Ian MacNaughton (94th, 22:30) and Aaron Thompson (98th, 22:50).
In the girls competition, Graham freshman Kristen Compton was 48th, finishing the run in 24:05. The top runner was Emma Wyatt of Grayson County who was clocked at 19:53.
James River claimed the girls team title.
Goodman will compete in the Group A state cross country meet on Saturday at Great Meadow in The Plains located in northern Virginia.
