WELCH — Corey Cook scored 25 points and Austin Banks added 16, leading Mingo Central to a 67-63 overtime win over Mount View on Friday night.
Mount View (5-10) was paced by Ismyle Salyers with 15 points and 11 each from Maurice Brown and Teddy Hazzard. Brown also had 10 rebounds, while Sawyers added nine.
Mingo Central (9-5) was able to score the final four points in overtime.
The Golden Knights will travel tonight to Meadow Bridge.

COUNCIL, Va. — After playing even through three quarters, Council edged by the Golden Wave in the fourth period for its first Black Diamond District win of the season.
Cameron Presley notched 23 points and eight rebounds to lead Council (5-12, 1-6 BDD). Billy Presley added eight points and seven rebounds and Keeton Bostic scored 12 points.
Grundy (4-3) was paced by 25 points from Ben Rife and 14 by Travis Lester.
On Tuesday, Council plays at Haysi and Grundy plays at Hurley.

Ryan Lucas added three 3s for the Tigers to finish with 17 points, while Jacob Buckland scored 16 and pulled down 10 boards in the win.

GALAX, Va. — Sydney Lindsey scored 18 points and Galax remained unbeaten in the Mountain Empire District with a 43-36 win over banged-up Graham on Friday night.
Graham, which was led by Kaylan Stanley with nine points, lost Ashley Moretto in the game to a season-ending injury, and Karly Morgan also missed much of the contest with an injury suffered in the loss.
Galax (15-3, 7-0) was down 22-21 halftime, but pulled away by outscoring the G-Girls 22-14 after the break. The G-Girls were just 11-of-27 from the free throw line.
Graham will host Grayson County on Wednesday.

COUNCIL, Va. — Grundy allowed Council no more than 10 points per quarter in their latest Black Diamond District victory on Friday night. Hannah Stiltner tossed in 21 points and Morgan Hall added 18 for the Lady Wave; Ali Kyle had 11 rebounds and 10 points.
Leading Council’s scoring were Haley Stevens and Adriane Rasnake, who each had 11 points.
Council is now 1-13, 0-7 in BDD play. Grundy has won six of its seven district games.
