PRINCETON —
The Princeton Tigers boys soccer team defeated Cabell Midland 4-2 on Saturday in a Mountain State Athletic Conference tournament game at the Princeton soccer stadium.
Princeton (12-5-1) concluded its regular season by winning its sixth match in a row. The Tigers are 12th in the Class AAA rankings of the state soccer association and expect to move up when Monday’s rankings are relased.
Colton Fix nailed an unassisted goal for Princeton’s first score. Cade Bradley provided assists on the next two goals, by Will Hickman and Bo Williams. Chance Shrewsbury bagged Princeton’s final goal, to put the Tigers up 4-1 at halftime.
Princeton goalkeeper Luke Lilly had 10 saves in the first half. Tanner Neeley was in goal for the second half and made three saves.
Both the boys and girls teams from Princeton will host sectional tournament action at their stadium on Tuesday evening. The girls play Woodrow Wilson at 5:30 and the boys take on the winner of the Oak Hill-Shady Spring match at about 7:30.
