LEWISBURG —
Evan Smith of Bluefield tied with Drew Ward from Nicholas County for medalist honors Monday at the Coalfield Conference East Tournament held at the Lewisburg Elks Golf Course.
Smith and Ward received trophies after both recorded the day’s low scores of 71. Ike Judy of James Monroe took third place with a 72. Two golfers tied for fourth with scores of 76, Ben Lamb of Summers County and Todd Jones of Nicholas County.
Ben Boggess had PikeView’s low score with a 94.
A trophy went to Megan Bailey of James Monroe for the low score by a female. She shot a 105.
Nicholas County won the event with a 345 team total, three shots better than James Monroe. With three golfers competing, Bluefield did not have a team score recorded.
PikeView will host a match at Pipestem today, which will include Summers County, James Monroe and Montcalm.
The Coalfield Conference West Tournament will be held next Monday. The official postseason begins with regionals in two weeks.
