GRUNDY, Va. —
A McDowell County man has been arrested on first-degree murder and robbery charges in relation to the 2011 death of a Buchanan County man.
David Hairm Gilbert, 24, of War, has been charged with first-degree felony murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted robbery in connection with the Nov. 24, 2011 death of Lee Roy Shortridge, according to Buchanan County Sheriff Ray Foster.
Gilbert was arrested following an investigation by Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Carla Fletcher and Virginia State Police Special Agent Marcus McClanahan. Gilbert is presently being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Haysi, Va.
