BLUEFIELD —
After serving less than a year as Bluefield’s economic development director, Greg Shrewsbury announced on Wednesday — one day after presenting “Blue Momentum,” his economic development plan to the city board — that he had tendered his resignation to the city board on Dec. 31.
In a brief statement, Shrewsbury said that he appreciated “the opportunity afforded to me by the board to contribute,” and added his opinion that “Bluefield is on a positive path, and her citizens should feel optimistic.”
Shrewsbury said he will return to an organization that he worked for in the past, but added that he intends “to be involved in Bluefield as a private individual, and I will always be connected.”
For more on Shrewsbury’s resignation, see Thursday’s edition of the Bluefield Daily Telegraph.
