BLUEFIELD —
One person was airlifted late Wednesday to a Bristol hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Tazewell County.
A pick-up truck flipped into a ditch in the Gratton community around 7 p.m. One person had to be extricated from the vehicle by crews with the Tazewell County Fire and Rescue Squad and the Clearfork Volunteer Fire Department, according to the Tazewell County 911 Communications Center.
The subject was airlifted from Mount Olive Church on Burkes Garden Road to Bristol Regional Medical Center. The individual’s condition wasn’t immediately known Thursday.
The Virginia State Police and Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office both responded to the crash.

The trial of Earl Click, the man who was charged along with his sister, Rebecca Lynn Hatcher, with the July 17, 2012 murder of Dr. Thomas Hatcher, mayor of War, has been continued according to the McDowell County prosecuting attorney’s office. The trial had been scheduled to start on Monday.
