BLUEFIELD —
After hearing public comments, the Bluefield Planning Commission voted unanimously today to recommend that the Bluefield Board of Directors change parts of College Avenue from a multi-family residential district to a single-family residential district.
Most Bluefield residents speaking at today’s public hearing were concerned that some landlords are not maintaining their rental properties, thus reducing property values. Mayor Linda Whalen said after the public hearing that the board would address the commission’s recommendation during its next meeting.
The next board of directors meeting will begin at noon Tuesday, Dec. 11 at the Bluefield Municipal Building.
