Salvation Army serves Thanksgiving dinner to hundreds

BLUEFIELD —  Five hundred individuals will enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner this year thanks to generous donations and local volunteers.

Recipients who gathered at the Salvation Army citadel off Bluefield Avenue today received a food bag with turkey, ham, pie and other food for a Thanksgiving dinner. Capt. Jerry Lester of the Salvation Army said anonymous donors provided the $10,000 needed to provide Thanksgiving aid this year.
