PRINCETON —
The West Virginia State Police is seeking a Mercer County man wanted for a probation violation involving failure to register as a sex offender.
David Roy Gilley, 24, of Bluefield is one of many individuals in the state police database for registered sex offenders.
“He’s wanted on a probation violation warrant,” said Cpl. J.C. Long of the West Virginia State Police detachment near Princeton. “This is about the third or fourth time we’ve been after him for failure to register.”
Gilley was convicted on May 18, 2009 of attempt to commit a felony. The victim in the case was a female acquaintance between 13 to 17 years ago, according to the sex offender registry. He was given 5 years of probation.
Gilley is a white male who is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes, Long said.
