BLUEFIELD —
Participants in Bluefield’s Youth Leadership Program are beginning a tour of area media outlets this afternoon, including the Bluefield Daily Telegraph.
Sponsored by the Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce, members of the Youth Leadership Program are getting a behind-the-scenes look at media in the community, including multimedia and changing media formats. The group arrived at the Daily Telegraph at 3:40 p.m. where they then boarded a bus for WVVA. WVVA General Manager Frank Brady is scheduled to provide the students with a tour of the television station at 4 p.m. followed by supper at Key Ingredients on Cumberland Road.
The students are due back at the Daily Telegraph at 6 p.m. where Editor Samantha Perry, Publisher Darryl Hudson and Bill Archer will talk to the group about media relations. The students will also get to see a special newspaper section about their media tour printed in the newspaper’s press room.
The group will then travel to the Adventure Radio Group offices where they will tour radio station J-104 with general manager Danny Clemons and station manager Pat Whittaker.
