PRINCETON —
Detectives with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department arrested two subjects late Thursday night in connection with a recent breaking and entering offense in the area.
Christopher Worrell, 34, and Todd Williams, 29, both of Princeton were arraigned Friday afternoon on seven counts each of breaking and entering, seven counts each of conspiracy and two counts each of grand larceny. The defendants appeared for their arraignment hearings before Mercer County Magistrate Mike Flanigan who set an all-cash bond for each defendant at $50,000. Both were detained and transported to Southern Regional Jail in Beaver.
Detective R.M. Combs II, of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department said that detectives responded on Oct. 17, to a report of a break-in at Moore’s Garage in Glenwood where several hand tools had been stolen. On Oct. 18, he initiated an investigation concerning the theft of a “large amount” of copper from a location on Route 20.
“We were able to get several leads in the investigation that took us to the defendants,” Combs said. “We recovered the hand tools and were able to return them to the owner. The copper was already sold.”
The two subjects were arrested late Thursday night. They appeared for their preliminary hearing shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday.
