AFTERNOON UPDATE — Calfee riding PikeView wave to glory

GARDNER — It takes more than the effort of one person for a team to have success in the postseason. It takes a committed and dedicated group surrounding the stars to turn a good squad into a great one.

Joel Calfee is an example of one of those role players. Last week in PikeView’s playoff game against Westside, Calfee caught touchdown passes of 18 and 28 yards as the Panthers upset the Renegades 34-21.

“Last week, we made history. It felt great,” Calfee said. “It felt good to get the win. We’ve just got to keep working.”
