BLUEFIELD — For much of the season, he has been shut down by defenses that have keyed on him. But last Friday, Marcus Patterson broke out, scoring touchdowns on an 85-yard run, a 74-yard reception, a 30-yard interception return and added 156 yards on punt returns in the first quarter.
For the talented senior, it was a long time coming.
“I was glad to finally get my opportunity to show what I could do on punt returns,” Patterson said. “That’s what I like to do, is get in the open field.”
