AFTERNOON UPDATE: Area Chrismas parades seeking participants
PRINCETON – With the day after Thanksgiving fast approaching, organizations across the Virginias are seeking participants for annual events featuring bands, civic clubs, marchers and a fellow by the name of Santa Claus — the Christmas parade.
Parades in West Virginia are planned for Princeton and Bluefield. In Virginia, Bluefield, Richlands, Tazewell, Pocahontas and Buchanan County are planning Christmas parades.

A 9-year-old boy died Tuesday from injuries sustained in a collision with a vehicle while riding a bicycle in Princeton, police said.
