AFTERNOON UPDATE: Congressmen serving the two Bluefields register opposing health care votes

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Congressional leaders of the two Bluefields registered opposing votes on the Affordable Health Care for America Act, with U.S. Rep. Nick J. Rahall, D-W.Va., casting a yes vote and U.S. Rep. Frederick C. “Rick” Boucher, D-Va., voting against the bill.

The bill passed late Saturday night on a 220-215 vote, with only one Republican joining the majority of Democrats who voted in favor of passage. Rahall issued a statement in support of his vote, and Boucher will hold a press briefing in Bristol, Va., on Monday to address his no vote.
