BLUEFIELD, Va. – A local energy company is stepping up to support the 2nd Chance Learning Center in Bluefield, Va.
On behalf of the 2nd Chance Learning Center, Erik Robinson, executive director and co-founder, received a $10,000 donation from Dominion Thursday to support the education efforts of the learning center.
Emil Avram, director of business development, and James Beazley, external affairs representative, from Dominion were on hand to make the check presentation. The donation will provide the learning center with additional resources to provide students with educational tools and counseling support.
“When Billy Wagner and I started the 2nd Chance Learning Center, we made a commitment to the children of Tazewell County that we would do everything we can to make sure that they graduated from high school and had a path to post-secondary education – either college or trade school. With the support of Dominion, and others in the community, we are able to steadfastly continue to keep our commitment and share in the success of our students,” Robinson said.
