GRUNDY - Millions in additional federal flood-proofing dollars are flowing into the Southwest Virginia town of Grundy.
The Fiscal Year 2010 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act signed into law late Thursday night by President Barack Obama includes $4 million to allow for a continuation of the voluntary flood proofing project in Grundy, the acquisition and administration of a pedestrian bridge contract and the completion of a new flood warning and emergency evacuation plan for Buchanan and Dickenson counties, according to U.S. Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., and U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner, D-Va.
