AFTERNOON UPDATE — Help needed identifying robbery suspects

NEWPORT, Va. — Giles County sheriff’s investigators hope the public can help in their search for suspects in the Oct. 11, robbery of the Super Value in Newport, Va.

Lt. Ron Hamlin of the Giles County Sheriff’s Office said a suspect gained access into the business by backing his vehicle through the front glass doors of the store, and — with the help of an accomplice — made off with cartons of cigarettes valued at $2,600.

Hamlin said that Giles County law enforcement officers aren’t having any luck identifying the suspects, and encouraged anyone who recognizes one or both of the suspects to call him at (540) 921-0091.
