PRINCETON — A woman was shot and killed Friday inside of a Mercer County business.
Police responded at 2:30 p.m. to a report of a shooting inside of Shear Perfections on Low Gap Road in Princeton. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 39-year-old woman had been shot and killed inside of the hair salon, Deputy Matt Combs of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department said.
Combs said police were still questioning a male suspect late Friday evening in connection with the fatal shooting. Combs said charges are pending in the investigation.
“A subject is being interviewed,” Combs said late Friday evening.
Combs said the man was located following a traffic stop around 4:30 p.m. Friday.
No other injuries were reported in the shooting. Combs declined to release the identity of the victim late Friday. He said the woman died at the scene of the shooting.
“It was domestic related,” Combs said of the shooting.
Combs said he couldn’t comment on whether any other customers or employees were inside of the hair salon at the time of the shooting.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
Combs is being assisted in the investigation by Deputy D.W. Sparks and Trooper M.R. Crowder.
