PRINCETON —
Facing an upcoming shortfall in federal money, the Bluefield Transit Authority is asking the Mercer County Commission for $9,000 in assistance.
General Manager Patrick McKinney asked the commission this morning to consider the funding request. The authority needs $18,000 in order to get another $18,000 in a federal matching grant, he said.
Mike Vinciguerra, president of the Mercer County Commission, said later that the commission would like to provide the money, but the commission will not know until the county’s next budget is finished next month as to whether the money will be available.
