RICHLANDS, Va. —
Steve Smith, president and chief executive officer of K-VA-T Food Stores Inc., has been announced as the featured speaker for the annual Richlands Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Meeting and Banquet on Feb. 21 at Southwest Virginia Community College in Richlands, chamber officials announced today.
Smith was raised in Grundy, Va. and earned his bachelor’s in business administration from James Madison University. Throughout his 33 years of employment with Food City, he has served in numerous key positions, before assuming his current position of president and chief executive officer.
K-VA-T Food Stores is headquartered in Abingdon, Va. and operates 93 Food City supermarkets, 11 Super Dollar Discount Foods and one convenience store throughout Southeast Kentucky, Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.
