ATHENS —
Around 75 attendees at the annual Concord Univeristy Groundhog Day breakfast heard bad news Friday morning. Concord Vice President of Advancement Alicia Besenyei reported on behalf of Concord President Dr. Gregory Aloia that the groundhog — Concord Charlie — saw his shadow this morning, and that means six more weeks of winter.
Besenyei said, “I hope you enjoyed the snow and cold weather this morning because you are going to get six more weeks of it.”
Bramwell Mayor Louise Stoker was the grand groundhog watcher for Friday’s program.
For a complete report on Concord Charlie’s prediction, see Friday’s edition of the Daily Telegraph.
