AFTERNOON UPDATE — Wanted Mercer woman believed dead in Arkansas
SHELL LAKE, ARK. – The sheriff of an Arkansas county said today that investigators believe the body found late Wednesday at a truck stop is that of a Mercer County woman who failed to appear Aug. 18 for her trial on a charge of first-degree murder.
A bench warrant was issued for Cathy D. Graham, 51, of Lashmeet, when she disappeared the day her trial was scheduled to begin. Graham had been free on bond since her arrest in connection with the death of Curtis Yates, 74, of Lake Bottom. She had been his caregiver.
“We’re 99 percent sure that it is her,” said St. Francis Sheriff Bobby May. “She had all of her identification including her photo identification. To be 100 percent sure, we’re going to have to match the fingerprints.”
