TAZEWELL, Va. —
Two Tazewell County men were arrested Friday morning after brandishing a weapon at another man and threatening local law enforcement.
Marty Hurd, 36, of Baptist Valley, Va., was taken into custody for brandishing a .460 magnum handgun at David Mikolic, 55, of Thompson Valley, Va., in Baptist Valley, according to Chief Deputy Harold Heatley with the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office. After being released on an unsecured bond, law enforcement received reports that Hurd and Mikolic were involved in another altercation with “a large stick.”
Mikolic is facing charges of breech of the peace and resisting arrest. Hurd barricaded himself in his residence with a shotgun before being disarmed and taken into custody by law enforcement. Additional charges may be pending against both men
