PRINCETON —
Two people were transported to the hospital as a result of a two-car collision at the intersection of Ambrose Lane and U.S. Route 460 Thursday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 10 a.m. when the driver of a beige 1996 Oldsmobile failed to stop at a red light on U.S. Route 460 eastbound and struck a silver 2008 Ford sedan crossing lanes to Oakvale Road, according to Lt. Joe Parks, with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported to Princeton Community Hospital in serious but stable condition, Parks said.

War mayor’s death: Click trial continued
The trial of Earl Click, the man who was charged along with his sister, Rebecca Lynn Hatcher, with the July 17, 2012 murder of Dr. Thomas Hatcher, mayor of War, has been continued according to the McDowell County prosecuting attorney’s office. The trial had been scheduled to start on Monday.
