BRISTOL, Va. - President Barack Obama will visit Southwest Virginia today to discuss his plans for health-care reform.
Obama is scheduled to make a stop at Kroger in Bristol — a city that is located less than two hours away from Bluefield — where he will meet with more than 100 Kroger employees and members of the media.
David Larimer, chairman of the Tazewell County Democratic Party, said Obama’s visit today marks the third time the president has been in the greater Southwest Virginia region. His two prior stops, including a visit to Lebanon High School in Russell County, were both during the 2008 presidential campaign. This is Obama’s first visit to the region as the president of the United States.
