The McDowell County man who was injured Tuesday, at 4 p.m., when the Geo Tracker he was driving crossed the center line of Glenwood Park Road, into the path of an on-coming Mercer County school bus, injuring two students has been identified.
Ted French, 73, of Maybeury was driving the Tracker, according to Deputy H.L. Walters of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. “When I spoke with him, he said he thought he fell asleep,” she said.
“He was flown to Roanoke, Va.,” Walters said. “Both of his legs and some of his ribs were broken.”
Walters said that the wreck is no longer under investigation.
