PRINCETON —
The city of Princeton will be awash with Tiger pride Monday as local businesses and organizations honor the Princeton Senior High School baseball team with a parade downtown for their first ever state championship win in baseball.
The Princeton Tigers beat Nitro Wildcats 7-4 to take the Class AAA High School Baseball Championship in Charleston on Sunday, June 3. The win is the first state champsion for the school’s baseball team and the first state championship win in sports for the school since Princeton Senior High School’s boy’s basketball team took the state championship in 1981.
The members of the team and coaching staff will be honored with a parade in downtown Princeton beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 11. Anyone wishing to take part in the parade can register with the Princeton-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce by phone at 304-487-1502 or email at pmccc@frontiernet.net.
