AFTERNOON UPDATE: Fire danger warning issued for the region

BLUEFIELD — Mercer, Monroe, Summers and Greenbrier counties are now part of a fire danger statement issued by the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Va. With warmer daytime temperatures and dry weather, fire danger has reached moderate to high levels across West Virginia, the statement said. State law prohibits burning debris from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. during March, April and May.
