PRINCETON – A Mercer County man pleaded guilty today in circuit court to first-degree murder in the July 2009 murder of a Princeton man.
Bruce Lee Milam, 34, of the Spanishburg-Kegley area pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of Lester Sloane, 58. Under the plea agreement, the state agreed to drop a charge of first-degree robbery.
Judge William Sadler sentenced Milam to life imprisonment with a recommendation of mercy, meaning he could be eligible for parole in 15 years. Sadler repeatedly warned Milam during the hearing that this did not mean parole would be granted.
