BLUEFIELD —
A fatal shooting in Bluefield is being investigated as a homicide.
Derek Tabor, 23, of Montcalm, was shot Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. on Fourth Street outside of a residence, according to Bluefield Police Chief J.W. “Joe” Wilson.
Wilson said a friend initially drove the man to the Bluefield Police Department after being shot. He was then transported from the police department to Bluefield Regional Medical Center by the Bluefield Rescue Squad.
Wilson said Tabor died a short time later at BRMC.
No arrests have been reported to date. An active investigation continues.

War mayor’s death: Click trial continued
The trial of Earl Click, the man who was charged along with his sister, Rebecca Lynn Hatcher, with the July 17, 2012 murder of Dr. Thomas Hatcher, mayor of War, has been continued according to the McDowell County prosecuting attorney’s office. The trial had been scheduled to start on Monday.
