Frost advisory issued for much of the region tonight

BLUEFIELD — The National Weather Service is asking residents in the two Virginians to prepare for a frosty night.

A frost advisory has been issued for Mercer, Monroe, Tazewell, Bland, and Giles counties from 4 a.m. until 9 a.m. Wednesday. According to the weather service, a high pressure system will pass through the area tonight creating patchy frost and lows in the 30-degree range.

Unprotected vegetation sensitive to frost may be killed if left uncovered during the night.
