PRINCETON- A Mercer County man who was arrested in August 2008 after the shooting death of his girlfriend pleaded guilty Thursday to murder in the first-degree.
Mercer County Circuit Court Judge Derek Swope sentenced Edward Omarrah, Jr., 31, of Bluewell to life with mercy after Omarrah pleaded guilty. Omarrah was arrested after the death of Renee Lorine Coleman, 19, of Lorton Lick Road. A sentence of life with mercy comes with the possibility of parole in 15 years, but Swope warned Omarrah that there was no guarantee parole would be granted.
Omarrah is being held at the Southern Regional Jail near Beckley pending his transfer to the state penitentiary.
