TAZEWELL, Va. — One person died Monday following a crash between a car and a all-terrain-vehicle in Tazewell County.
The collision was reported between 1 and 1:30 p.m. in the Rock Ridge area of Tazewell County, which borders Buchanan and Russell counties, said Sheriff H.S. Caudill of the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office. The names of both people had not been released.
One person, a male subject, was flown by helicopter to Bristol Regional Medical Center where he later died, Caudill said. A second subject, also male, was at Clinch Valley Medical Center near Richlands, Va. That person’s condition was not available.
It was not known whether the car struck the ATV or the ATV struck the car, Caudill said. An accident reconstruction team was on the scene Monday evening. The case was still under investigation.
