Motorcycle crash kills Narrows man
WYTHEVILLE, Va. — A Giles County resident died Friday afternoon when his motorcycle left the highway and struck a culvert near the intersection of Interstate 77 and Interstate 81.
Haven Onnie Dobbins, 62, was riding his motorcycle at 3:30 p.m. southbound on Interstate 77 just north of Interstate 81, according to a report filed by Trooper J.T. Melvin of the Virginia State Police.
The motorcycle ran off the left side of the highway and hit a culvert. Dobbins was thrown from the cycle and died at the scene, Dobbins said. No other people were on the motorcycle and no other vehicles were involved. The investigation was pending Friday.
