BLUEFIELD – A $200,000 federal grant announced Thursday by U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., will allow for improvements to the terminal building at the Mercer County Airport.
Rahall said the funding from the Federal Aviation Administration will be used to replace the original, exterior windows of the terminal building, which were installed over fifty years ago, as well as make improvements to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system.
“Mercer County Airport is an important transportation option for southern West Virginians,” Rahall said. “This funding will help to ensure the airport facilities are safe, secure and in top notch condition.”
