WARDELL, Va. —
A Tazewell County man died early Sunday morning as a result of injuries he received in a single-vehicle wreck in Russell County near the Tazewell County line on U.S. Route 19.
Charles Dewain Bohon Jr., 55, of Cedar Bluff, Va., was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, according to a report filed by Trooper S.A. Sutherland of the Virginia State Police.
According to Sutherland’s narrative, the victim was traveling north on U.S. Route 19 when he ran off the shoulder of the road to the right, over corrected, crossed the road and wrecked. The wreck was .3 of a mile north of the intersection of U.S. Rt. 19 and Route 770, near Wardell.
Bohon was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban. The wreck happened at 3:25 a.m.
