BLUEFIELD —
The National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Va., has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of the region, including Mercer, Tazewell and McDowell counties.
The watch is in effect until 7 p.m. this evening. Damaging winds and large hail are possible, along with periods of locally heavy rain.
