PRINCETON —
A man charged with slitting the throat of his neighbor remains incarcerated this morning in the Southern Regional Jail in Beaver.
Roy Lee Williams, 41, of Princeton, was taken into custody at about 8 a.m. Saturday morning and charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, malicious wounding and armed robbery, according to Trooper D.C. Graham of the West Virginia State Police Princeton Detachment.
The victim, a 67-year-old male, remains hospitalized this morning.
“He is still receiving medical treatment,” Graham said. “He’s still in the hospital.”
Graham said a motive for the attack still remains under investigation.
The victim was found bound with an electrical cord at a residence on LJ Street in Princeton.
“The kidnapping charge is that he was bound with an electrical cord,” Graham said. “That is how he received some of his injuries.”
Graham said the accused and the victim knew each other.
Williams was arraigned on the charges over the weekend. He remains incarcerated at the Southern Regional Jail in Beaver. Graham said a preliminary hearing in the case will be scheduled within a week.
