School bus strikes fire truck in Princeton, leaves the scene of the accident

PRINCETON — A Princeton fire truck had minor damage today after an out-of-state school bus clipped it and left the scene of the accident.

Mercer County 911 was alerted at 12:10 p.m. that an Albermarle County, Va., school bus had hit a Princeton fire engine at the intersection of Rogers Street and Locust Street.

Lt. Sean Wyatt of the Princeton Fire Department said the engine was on its way to a state fire marshal meeting when the accident happened. He said the bus driver likely didn’t know he had touched the fire truck.

The Princeton Police Department is investigating.
