No injuries have been reported at a house fire on Beechwood Road near Tazewell, Va., but the home is a total loss.
Fire departments had to bring water from a hydrant on Witten Valley Road to fight the blaze. Firefighters had to bring water in tanker trucks because no fire hydrants were near the home.
War mayor’s death: Click trial continued
The trial of Earl Click, the man who was charged along with his sister, Rebecca Lynn Hatcher, with the July 17, 2012 murder of Dr. Thomas Hatcher, mayor of War, has been continued according to the McDowell County prosecuting attorney’s office. The trial had been scheduled to start on Monday.
