BLUEFIELD — Erik Compton shot a 7-under 63 to take a 1-shot lead during the first round of the inaugural Greenbrier Classic on Thursday.
George McNeill, Pat Perez and Jeff Overton carded a 64 to stay one stroke behind Compton. Brendon de Jonge, Charles Howell III and Aron Price each shot a 65 to stay in the hunt two shots behind Compton.
