BLUEFIELD, Va. — A well-known Tazewell County brick artist, Johnny Hagerman, traveled from his home in Pounding Mill, Va., to participate as February’s “Artisan of the Month” in a program sponsored by the Tazewell County Visitors Center.
Hagerman is known for his incredible brick sculptures that are incorporated into the interior walls of many buildings including his latest work in the Southwest Virginia Community College student resources center that is inspired by the images Hagerman observed on Paint Lick Mountain.
The Visitor’s Center hosts a visit by a Tazewell County artisan every month.
