ANAWALT —
The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in solving two recent breaking and entering investigations in the town of Anawalt.
The first break-in occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Riverside No. 2 convenience store at Anawalt, according to a press release by McDowell County Sheriff Martin West.
The second break-in occurred on Monday Feb. 11, at Sissy’s Stop and Shop, also in Anawalt.
At both stores the ATMs had been burglarized and tobacco products stolen, according to the sheriff’s office.
Anyone with any information concerning the thefts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 304-436-8541

War mayor’s death: Click trial continued
The trial of Earl Click, the man who was charged along with his sister, Rebecca Lynn Hatcher, with the July 17, 2012 murder of Dr. Thomas Hatcher, mayor of War, has been continued according to the McDowell County prosecuting attorney’s office. The trial had been scheduled to start on Monday.
