CAMP CREEK —
A three-car collision involving a tractor trailer shut down one lane of Interstate 77 near the 22 mile marker this afternoon.
According to Cpl. T.D. Holster of the West Virginia State Police Turnpike Detachment, the driver of a black Kia Sportage was traveling north on I-77 in the far right lane when it came upon a tractor trailer with Ohio license plates hauling steel bars.
Holster said the driver of the Kia attempted to stop, but ended up striking the rear of the tractor trailer. The force of the impact caused the Kia to spin out and travel across the northbound lanes where it then struck a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The driver of the Kia was cited for a failure to maintain control of the vehicle.
Only minor injuries were reported. Everyone involved refused transport to the hospital, Holster said.
