PEARISBURG, Va. —
Giles County students are staying home Wednesday while local law enforcement agencies speak with teachers and staff about a reference to school shootings made on a map in a Batman movie.
Giles County Sheriff W.M. Millirons said that no direct threat has been made to Giles County schools. Deputies and area police will continue extra patrols at the schools.
“If you don’t investigate, you never know what might happen,” Millirons said.
Barring weather condition or new developments, students will return to class Thursday, Millirons said.
