BRAMWELL —
A McDowell County man who attempted to rob a Bramwell convenience store died early this morning after a customer in the store shot him multiple times.
According to Mercer County Sheriff Don Meadows, the customer had a concealed weapon permit and was carrying an automatic pistol. The alleged robber, who entered the Pop Shop wearing a mask, was armed with a shotgun. He died en route to Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Meadows anticipates an arrest of one suspect, perhaps more. The case is under investigation.
