LASHMEET – The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the Lashmeet area Tuesday evening.
Cpl. S.A. Sommers, with the Sheriff’s Department, confirmed the shooting took place “off of Route 10,” in the Lashmeet area.
The shooting is being investigated as a homicide, Sommers said, adding, “We have a person of interest in custody.”
Sommers confirmed the victim was a male, but could provide no other details on the case late Tuesday evening.
Det. D.W. Sparks is the lead investigator in the case.
