BLUEFIELD —
Bluefield fire fighters are currently checking a Federal Street building in downtown Bluefield after receiving a report of a possible basement fire.
The alarm came from the old Coal & Coke Building on 302 Federal Street. Employees of the Wells Fargo Insurance Services currently in the structure were evacuated.
Fire Chief Kevin Scanlon said fire fighters were still investigating, but the possible source of the alarm was an electrical problem. Rooms were being checked and a thermal imaging camera was being used to detect any possible hot spots.
